You can experience the diversity of life at Komodo with a visit to their national park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hilly contours at some of these islands also make excellent vantage points for viewing the sunrise and sunset.
As the destination is home to some of the most breath-taking beach sceneries, travellers cannot leave without witnessing some of them. A must-see is the Pink Beach in Komodo – one out of only seven of its kind in the world. Its salmon hue is produced when red coral fragments mix with sand at the shore, resulting in a unique visual phenomenon. Taka Makassar Island presents another dreamy sight, letting visitors laze on its white sandbar surrounded by shallow, transparent waters.
The islands are also excellent for snorkelling and diving, so gear up to spot some colourful fishes and sea turtles. At the various manta points, you might be lucky enough to swim alongside elegant manta rays. Indeed, the islands have no lack of beautiful coral reefs and marine life for your exploration.
